Suffolk’s Last Stand

Planning to check out the meet at Suffolk Downs this weekend.   I used to go a few times a summer when they had a full schedule, and caught Offlee Wild’s win in the MassCap. They would always have some good horses in for the Massachusetts Handicap.   It looks like the racing operation there will fold up after the summer of 2018.  It’s disappointing as that will bring an end to live racing in New England. We watched Rockingham Park go away, and the fair circuit as well.   (Saratoga, however, may as well be Boston west in August  . . . you see everyone up there).  I’ll give you a full report on Suffolk when I get back to ‘Capper HQ.
