Seperationofpowers wiped out a bunch of my Pick 4 tickets when she nosed out Mia Mischief in the Test
Two trips to the Spa down, two to go . . . . as i have not posted as much as I hoped to, lets check in on the players guide we posted before the meet.
- The George Weaver angle connected opening day with Daddy Is a Legend
- The Finger Lakes angle connected with Winston’s Chance on Sunday, August 5
- We haven’t had to worry about the turf drying out !
- I don’t have the data on Pletcher’s firsters, but he is not having a strong meet (Asmussen seems to have the best 2 yo crop this year)
- Fragoso hasn’t had enough mounts to matter
- Pick Your Spots – this i have managed, but not great. Up a few bucks for the meet; should have crushed 3-4 horses that i connected on. Gave out Diversify on the twitter on Saturday morning; won for fun at 8-5. I personally didn’t peel enough off the bankroll to have the impact it should have; i was too wrapped up with my Pick 3 and Pick 4 plays. On Sunday, watch horse I’m the Captain now connected as a $12.00 + winner, same issue as with Diversify. Had a minor score with Last Chant, who paid $38.20 to place.
- Jockey/Trainer angles – Positive jockey changes – I think these come in to play more at Saratoga then most meets. Seeing the Ortiz brothers and Castellano up for barns they don’t ride much for has been profitable. The jockeys, trainers, and owners all want to win at the Spa, looks like all are hustling to get the best connections for their mounts.
- I got my ShakeShack smokeburger the opening weekend. Always worth the wait.
- Easy come, easy go. Let’s get them in the second half.
